Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is included in the fire pit rental?

The rental includes firewood and lighting equipment. We also have grilling sticks available for use.

2. Can I access the grill hut or sauna before my booking to make preparations?

This is possible if there is no other group using the space before your reservation. However, we recommend booking extra time in advance for preparations to ensure you have enough time to set everything up.

3. How far in advance do I need to confirm the number of participants and dietary restrictions?

We require the final number of participants and any dietary restrictions at least three business days before your event.

4. I have already paid for my booking but need to cancel. How do I proceed?

When booking, you receive a confirmation email with a link to modify your reservation. You can also contact us by phone or email, and we will handle the changes for you. Any refunds for pre-paid bookings will be processed within a few business days.

5. Do you have public restrooms?

Yes! Our heated restroom is located in the red outbuilding and includes three stalls and a urinal. It is also wheelchair accessible. The restroom is open during our business hours and available to all visitors in the area.

6. Can I bring my dog inside?

Yes, dogs are welcome indoors! We love having furry visitors and even offer a treat for our lovely guests. Summer time fresh water is also available on the terrace.

7. Can I bring my own food to the fire pits?

Yes, you can! However, we encourage visitors to order at least part of their catering through us. If you bring your own food, we kindly ask that you support our café services, as we maintain the area clean and functional for your enjoyment. This helps us cover the costs of upkeep.

8. Can I make a fire at the fire pits during a forest fire warning?

No, open fires are strictly prohibited during a forest fire warning! The only exception is the grill hut, which has a properly elevated fire pit with a chimney, making it safe for use even during a warning.

9. Can I go swimming or winter dipping from the pier outside of sauna sessions?

Yes! There are swimming ladders at the end of the pier for easy access to the water. However, we do not have a sandy beach. Niihamajärvi is a small, shallow, humus-rich lake, and its water temperature closely follows the air temperature. In winter, the ice hole is kept open with a pump.
